OUR SCHOOL
Read the following text that some of your schoolmates wrote some time ago and FIND THE DIFFERENCES between what they describe and your school this year.
Good morning! We are students from the “Ravizza” school; in our school there are three main branches: we study Business&Commerce, Social & Health Care and Hotel Management & Catering Services (Hospitality). Our school is in Novara and it is a vocational school. There are about 1,000 students and it is the biggest school of Novara.
Differently from schools in the UK or the USA, our school is not in one single campus but courses are spread in 3 separate buildings which are quite far from each other.
The Business&Commerce and Social & Health Care branches are located in the city centre (in front of the Hospital Emergency Ward), while the Hospitality Courses are held in a a newer building at the outskirt of the city.
We go to school from Monday to Saturday; lessons start at 8.00 am and finish at 1.00 pm. Once a week we stay at school until 4.00 p.m.
In the Hospitality Branch there are three kitchens and three restaurant rooms with bar counters, and when you enter the building you are met by the receptionists at the Reception counter.
When we do cookery, bar&restaurant tending or hotel reception we must wear our uniforms.
In our school students and teachers are frequently involved in catering services and banquets in and around the city.
On their third and fourth year students are engaged in an internship program; they spend from 4 to 8 weeks at work in an office, hotel, restaurant, nursery, retirement home... depending on their vocational studies.
